Badlands Observatory is currently available to school groups for field trips on a reservation basis.  Eventually, programs on various astronomical subjects may be presented at the observatory.

Notice: Badlands Observatory has recently developed the capability to allow remote operation of the telescope and camera system by students from their classrooms.  This unique experience allows them to make observations in real-time by using their school’s computer to link up to the observatory via the Internet, very similar to the way the Hubble Space Telescope is operated. Avenues are also being explored that may allow students to actually participate directly in the scientific work being conducted at the observatory.
