Spencer Cody of Edmunds Central School District won a $5,000 grant for his project titled: “South Dakota 3-Dimensional Geology Project: Making the Abstract Accessible”. The project is designed to encourage interest in Earth Science in HS, MS, and even Elementary students. Cutting-edge technology and teaching strategies that reinforce the required Earth Science standards will be used and will focus on the subject of geology and geological processes. Mr. Cody will use the SD Science Assessment for grades 5, 8, and 11 to gauge the impact the program has on Earth Science education. 160 students per year will be reached.
