Attending the meetings from SDSU
D.E. Clay (Prof.)
C.G. Carlson (Prof.)
C. Reese (Ph.D. graduate student and Research Associate)
W.A. Tjentland (M.S. Graduate Student)
J. Kleinjan, (Research Associate)
J. Chang, (Post. Doc)

Over 500 people attended the meeting.  Remote sensing and GIS was discussed in many of the talks and there were two sessions that specifically discussed remote sensing (Applications of remote sensing to precision agriculture and Remote sensing/pest management).   We visited with many scientists informally and presented 11 papers. A conference proceedings is in the process of being developed and I was asked to serve on the Editorial Board for the proceedings.  The papers from SDSU are listed below.

I had several informal discussions with Dr. Keith Morris.  Dr. Morris is the Ag 20/20 Project Manager, Served as NASA’s representative on the USDA-CSREES Initiative for future Agriculture and Food Systems (IFAFS) grant program.  In this program Ag 20/20 and USDA cosponsored a program that was designed to facilitate the use of remote sensing in agricultural activities.   Dr. Morris is located at John C. Stennis Space Center. I visited with Dr. Morris about his willingness to collaborate with the NASA-EPSCoR project and if he had any specific suggestions on future proposals that we plan to submit to Ag 20/20.  He provided me with some excellent ideas about what needs to be in any future project and provided insight why our previous proposal was not funded.  Since the conference I have been in contact with Dr. Morris through E-mail.
